The windows and doors have been closed for years. With its prime location and beautiful design, it has been a topic of conversation for over forty years.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>The widespread talk about the house suggests family disputes left it empty, while others spoke of spirits inhabiting it. The most popular story claims that a sheikh was buried on the property. But his children built over his grave, diverting drainage toward it. This action supposedly cast a curse on anyone who tried to invest in the place.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>When you search for &#8220;haunted house in Damascus,&#8221; you\u2019ll find numerous articles linking it to ghosts and jinn. One popular tale claims that the owner listed the house for half a million Syrian pounds. Apparently, a Russian woman bought it but never moved in.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>Recently, a user shared a photo of the house in a popular Facebook group about Syrian historical landmarks. Responses varied, but Raed Al-Abrash stated that his family has owned the house since the sixties. He also said that the stories about it are untrue.<br><\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>Al-Abrash mentioned that he visited the house with his father in the 90s when it was an office and never saw anything strange. As for why the house remained empty, he said it was for personal reasons, and part of it was renovated in 2010, but it still hasn&#8217;t been occupied.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mere-rumors\">Mere Rumors!<\/h3>    <p>It&#8217;s worth noting that media outlets have interviewed people living or working around the area, and all denied any strange occurrences. They confirmed that the house is just abandoned, and its owners are living abroad, with all the stories being mere rumors.<\/p>    <p><\/p>    <p>Poet Kamala Khairbek said the house gained its fame from a story involving Egyptian broadcaster Yosri Fouda, who allegedly tried to film inside and had a strange experience.
