For Book Lovers: Damascus International Book Fair Is Back!
From February 6 to 16, 2026, the Damascus Fairgrounds will once again host the biggest cultural event in the country. The Damascus International Book Fair brings together book lovers, publishers, writers, and creatives from Syria and the Arab world in one place. It’s a yearly event that brings culture, ideas, and creativity back to the heart of Damascus.
Books for every taste
Thousands of titles from local and Arab publishers. Novels, literature, culture, religion, history, science, self-development, translated books, and children’s stories. Whatever you like to read, you’ll find it here.
Cultural events
The fair is more than book shopping. There are poetry nights, talks, workshops, panel discussions, and book signings with Syrian and Arab authors. This year’s guest of honor is Qatar, with a special pavilion showcasing Qatari culture.
Children’s area
Not just for adults. The kids’ pavilion includes fun and educational activities like interactive theater, talent corners, discovery zones, smart games, reading challenges, creative workshops, and augmented reality cinema. A great experience for the whole family.
Awards for creatives
The fair will present several cultural awards, including:
Best Syrian Publisher, International Publishing Award, Children’s Book Awards (local and international), Best Syrian Writer, Youth Creativity Award, and Cultural Figure of the Year.
Are you a writer or artist?
Writers, poets, illustrators, and artists can take part in events, workshops, or book signings. Cultural companies can also join as official sponsors.
Participate as a Volunteer
The fair welcomes volunteers who want to gain experience and be part of a cultural team. Flexible hours and a participation certificate are included.
Free transportation
Free buses run daily to the fairgrounds from:
- Baramkeh (SANA Agency)
- University City – Mazzeh Highway
- Bab Touma Square
- Al-Hurriya Bridge
